Personalised dog collar nameplate: your engraving and your order
This dog collar nameplate displays your contact details and gives the collar a personal finish. Two holes allow direct attachment to a suitable collar.
You are ordering an engraved plate, not a collar. Choose a silver-coloured or gold-coloured finish to match the fittings. Before buying, ask which fasteners are supplied and how the plate should attach to your collar.

What you can personalise
Enter useful contact information, then select the plate finish and engraving colour. The serif font is the only option. This nameplate has no selectable logo or decorative symbol.
Compatibility with Smart Wag collars
A matching brand does not guarantee a suitable fit. Check the available space, lining and hole spacing. For a Wippet collar, confirm the attachment method before making holes in the leather.
Intended attachment: two fixing points on the collar
This product’s description confirms direct attachment through two holes. It is not a tag suspended from a ring. The collar needs a suitable area for the 60 × 8 mm plate.
Before fitting, check hole spacing, leather thickness and lining. Ask Smart Wag to help you choose fasteners suited to these measurements. Once attached, the plate must stay secure, with no edge or fastener touching the skin.

Choosing a nameplate for your dog’s size
The stated plate size is 60 × 8 mm. This product does not offer three different plate sizes. Use the guide below to assess space on the collar, rather than choosing by breed alone.
Checks for small, medium and large dogs
| Dog size | Collar | What to check |
|---|---|---|
Small dog | Narrow collar with limited space. | The 60 mm length must fit without obstructing the buckle or making the collar excessively stiff. |
Medium dog | Width and thickness vary. | Check the flat mounting area, both holes and the protection against the skin. |
Large dog | Collar may be wide or lined. | A wide collar does not guarantee compatibility; ask for confirmation of the fastening method. |
Keeping the engraving readable
Keep the wording short and the phone number easy to read. There is no need to fill both lines. Check every digit in the preview and again in the order summary.
Engraving options: characters, symbols and finish
The configurator accepts two lines of up to 25 characters each, on the front only. Engraving text is required. Common accented letters remain in the input; each word receives an initial capital. Check the displayed result before confirming.
Choose black or tone-on-tone engraving on a silver-coloured or gold-coloured plate. The engraving is on the plate, not the leather. The collar colour therefore does not change the engraving surface. Ask Smart Wag about unusual characters before ordering.
Why choose a fixed nameplate rather than a hanging tag?
The plate attaches directly to the collar. The round identification tag and bone-shaped tag come with a split ring. Choose the fitting you prefer. These accessories can complement each other without adding unnecessary hanging items.
Prefer not to display your dog’s name? Use your contact details while including any information required locally. Hiding the dog’s name does not guarantee protection against theft. People standing close to your dog can still read a nameplate.
Dog collar nameplate questions
Does an engraved nameplate replace a compulsory microchip?
No. A plate provides readable contact details, not electronic identification. UK guidance requires dogs to be microchipped and registered by eight weeks. It also requires the owner’s name and address on a collar and tag in public. Check the rules where you live or travel.
Where can I personalise a dog collar nameplate?
Enter your text on this product page, then choose the plate finish and engraving colour. Review both lines in the summary before adding the plate to your basket. The collar is sold separately.
How do I choose the plate finish?
Match the silver-coloured or gold-coloured finish to your collar’s fittings. Then choose black or tone-on-tone engraving. Review your contact details in the summary before ordering.
Will the plate fit every dog collar?
No, the fitting needs checking for each collar. Confirm the hole spacing, supplied fasteners and suitability for the leather’s thickness. No edge or fastening should rub against the dog’s skin.
