Smart Wag offers personalised leather engraving on selected halters, bridles and dog collars. Personalisation usually takes the form of a metal plate fixed to the leather piece. Depending on the product, it can carry a name, number or short contact details.
What can be engraved, and on which products?
Each product page states whether engraving is included, optional or unavailable. There is no single limit for the whole collection. Available space depends on the support, the number of lines and the engraving profile designed for that item.
Leather halters and bridles
On an engraved leather halter or bridle, the plate usually carries the horse, stable or rider name. Selected items also accept a special character. The text field counts each character and prevents entries that exceed the limit for that support.

Dog collars and tags
For an engraved leather dog collar, a name and telephone number are often the most useful choice. Depending on the item, the text appears on a collar plate or tag. Two lines may be available to separate the dog’s name from the contact details.
Stable and brand logos on request

Choosing the engraving typeface and colour
The product page presents the choices in a practical order. Start with the size and leather colour, then select the available hardware. When a matching plate is included, silver hardware is paired with a silver finish and gold hardware with a brass finish.
The configurator then shows the available engraving styles. A script typeface suits a short name. The straight typeface is clearer for a number or two lines. It may be applied automatically when the support uses two lines.
How long does engraving take?
An engraved piece needs additional preparation before dispatch. Timing varies with the product, the requested engraving and the current preparation workload. We therefore do not publish one standard duration on this page.
