SAFETY AND USE

A halter and bridle are first and foremost communication tools that should be used with care. Badly adjusted or used in the wrong conditions, they could seriously injure your horse. We make it a point of honour to design products in supple leather, which gives way when the horse pulls, falls or jams the halter against a fence, a door, a tree, etc. A horse's strength is often underestimated, whereas a seemingly light headstroke exerts a considerable force of several hundred Newton Metres. This force, combined with the pressure added to the halter or bridle, can injure your horse if the product fails to yield.

Here are our recommendations for the use of our halters and bridles:

Halters

  • It is not advisable to leave halters on horses in the pasture or paddock unsupervised.
  • It is not advisable to leave your horse unattended.
  • We do not recommend using the Rope halter as a tether. Its use is recommended for work in hand.
  • We recommend that you adjust your halter correctly so that it does not cause injury to your horse.
  • We recommend that you use a safety ring or light twine between your lead rope and the tie ring when tying your horse.

Bridles

  • It is not advisable to tie your horse to a fixed point via its bridle or Smart Wag sidepull.
  • The Sidepull Smart Wag should not be used in hand. It is not recommended for lunging or other training on foot.
