How do you use a lanyard with a halter in complete safety?
Choosing the right halter
Choose a halter with breaking points, made of leather or fitted with a buckle designed to give in the event of a strong pull. This will prevent injury in the event of panic.
Check the lanyard
Make sure that the carabiner on the lanyard is securely closed, as some models can get stuck in the open position, increasing the risk of sudden breakage.
Use a secure fastening system
Connect the lanyard to a controlled breaking system, such as a straw bale wire or a specific breaking ring. These devices reduce the risk of injury while protecting the halter and lead rope from premature breakage.
